Damn, this is so nice. Put your headphones on and turn this one up. This takes me back to the days of Common and Tribe.

Sikai is one of my favorite new artists. I've still got Painkilling: Summertime Sick which you can still download for free. This is his first single off of the next installment of his Painkilling series Painkilling: D.R.U.G.S. in America. I haven't heard one bad track from this dude, yet.
Common and No I.D. enlist Vince Staples to help them on a doooope track off of Commons up-coming 10th studio album Nobody's Smiling.

A nice dedication to the Gangstarr emcee Guru. Courtesy of Talib, Premo and Marco Polo. Damn, this has me wanting to go listen to Jazzmatazz, been a while since I've put some Gangstarr/Guru on rotation. Gotta remedy that.

Co$$ comes through with the first of his two part LP series. If you've followed my blog, you'll recognize Co$$ but if you're new, you're still in for a treat. Here's what Co$$ has to say about the project:
"Grayer Skies is the first half of a two part LP series, the second half being Bluer Skies dropping in late November. The concept is what I call a "compilation of styles" as opposed to songs. Each project has its own distinct vibe and sound, putting on display different aspects of my style both production wise and content wise. Grayer Skies is a ode to the more boom bap, introspective aspect of my style, while Bluer Skies will showcase the more commercial side of my music. I hope you enjoy the music. Thanks for your love and support." -C$$.
I have to say, the production and content are both so nice. This is definitely one of the better projects I've come across in a while.

Since I first heard BaseSix, I've been compelled to follow his music. I've posted a several tracks, featured on this mixtape, on my site previously. That being said, I'm still surprised at just how good this mixtape is. My mans lyrics and flow keep him in tune with the old school but he still has that "swagger" of the new school. Just take 'Feel Me?' and 'Potna'. Completely different tracks but Basesix kills both instrumentals. #versatility I recommend everybody go download the mixtape for FREE!

Just when I think Kendrick might be a little overrated, he kills this cypher like it was Nicky Santoro in the trunk of a Cadillac. Jay Rock, Ab, Isaiah Rashad and Q all come correct also. This is definitely the most talented group of emcees in the industry, if you ask me.
